Immuno-diagnostic reagents
Immuno-Diagnostic Reagents (IDR) of San Diego, California was founded in 1985 to develop Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) kits and reagents for research use in the clinical, agricultural and environmental areas.
IDR offers Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assays (ELISA or EIA) having the desirable qualities:
- Stability of regents
- Reproducibility
- Sensitivity
- Specificity
- Ease of use
- Inexpensive
Most of IDR’s EIA kits are competitive immunoassays. In these kits, high affinity antibody is coated in polystyrene microtiter wells. Standards containing varying known amounts of the analytes are added and allowed to react with the antibody in the wells. The prepared samples to be tested also are added into additional wells. An enzyme conjugate is added to all wells and allowed to react with the antibody. After a wash step, substrate is added for the final color development process. By comparing the reaction of the sample wells to the wells with standards, the user is able to determine the amount of the compound present. The presence of the compound in the sample results in competitive inhibition of the antibody-enzyme reaction. This produces an inverse relationship between the concentration of compound and the substrate turnover. The results can be screened visually by comparing sample well color to standard well color or quantitatively by using a microtiter plate reader..
products
The product lines for EIA kits are:
A. Natural toxins: histamine, aflatoxin, fumonisin, ochratoxin and zearalenone
B. Antibiotics: chloramphenicol, monensin, tylosin, sulfamethazine
C. Pesticides: 2,4 D, atrazine, glyphosate, paraquat and parathion
D. Drugs: atenolol, cotinine
E. Others: imidazole, asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), Triton X
IDR also sells enzyme conjugates and protein conjugates for selected analytes. These conjugates could be used in the assay development.
In addition to the catalog products, other services are available including (a) hapten modification and conjugation to proteins and enzymes; (b) antibody production and (c) immunoassay development.
